KONY 2012: Part 2

There’s now a new video as part of the KONY 2012 campaign.  It is definitely a step moving beyond merely making Joseph Kony famous and toward actually taking action. I think its a step in the right direction, but there’s still a ways to go. KONY 2012 is an interesting project, but not without its critics. I think some of the criticism is fair, but I’m still forming an opinion on it all.

I’m still wading through it all and coming to terms with what I think. That’s part of why I’ve simply shared the videos, but not really commented on KONY 2012. I think awareness is important, but if all we do is “raise awareness,” I’m not sure we’ve really done anything. I’m glad that there is now this video, but we’ll see if it can gain quite the viral response the first one did. And by response, I mean more than just a bajillion (technical term) youtube views and a gazillion (another technical term) Facebook shares.

I don’t know, these are just initial thoughts. What do you think about it all?
